Individual Yoga Instruction
During an Individual Yoga Session, Maureen can help you access the healing powers of yoga by customizing a routine based on your body’s needs and your personal goals to help foster the connection between body, mind and spirit. Maureen won’t push you beyond your abilities. Rather than tell you what to do, Maureen will intuitively work with you and your body, showing you how to work intelligently with your body to bring yourself into a balanced state. Yoga treats the whole person, which means that you’ll see more than physical changes. In addition to a strong, toned body and relief of physical pain, you may also experience mental, emotional, and energetic well-being. Maureen will encourage you to listen to your body, and help you find the clarity, compassion and gratitude that the practice of yoga brings into everyday life.

Svaroopa® Yoga
Svaroopa® Yoga is a unique style of hatha (posture-based) yoga that helps unravel tension in the deepest layers of the body. Svaroopa® yoga works for every body. It creates healing and personal transformation, while opening you to an illuminative inner experience of your own essence, which is the goal of all yoga. Core tensions begin in the muscles around the base of the spine and negatively affect the whole body. Svaroopa® Yoga releases these core tensions, beginning with the tailbone and sacrum, and then carrying the changes through the rest of the spine, the rib cage, neck and shoulders. As the spinal tension releases, the beneficial effects radiate throughout your entire body. Your body feels more alive. A typical session uses props such as chairs, blocks and blankets. Maureen will customize the poses, or asanas, to fit your needs and your body, and to help you find asense of ease, relief, and peace.

Embodyoga™
Embodyoga™ is a fluid and evolving system of discovery that incorporates much of the best of the popular systems of yoga today with the revolutionary investigation into the inner workings and relationships of body and mind. In addition to incorporating traditional yogic techniques, Embodyoga™ allows us to:
• notice and appreciate the grace and wisdom of the body,
• align inner cellular movement with the external expression of movement through space, in the form of asana and vinyasa - creating true “flow” of body and mind.
• develop a depth and beauty in yoga practice that is evident to the eye, felt profoundly by the practitioner, and remains constant when we step off the mat.
