How does Embodyment® Therapy work?
Embodyment® Therapy is a safe and reliable hands-on healing modality based on Svaroopa® Yoga. During Embodyment®, the therapist places her hands on key areas of the client's spine to release tension in the muscles and create profound spinal opening. Like CranioSacral Therapy, Embodyment® Therapy unleashes the body's natural healing ability. The therapist supports your body in such a way to enhance self-healing.
Who can benefit from Embodyment® Therapy?
Embodyment® Therapy can benefit almost everyone, as we all hold tension in our bodies. Besides leading to pain, physical tension can also be a sign of mental and emotional tension being held in the body.
Some symptoms that Embodyment ®Therapy has been shown to alleviate include, but are not limited to:
• Neck and back pain, Headaches, Temporal Mandibular Pain (TMJ)
• Stress and tension, Depression,
• Anxiety and Low-Energy
Embodyment® Therapy has been shown to improve:
• Digestion and Elimination
• Sleep
• Strength of the immune system
• Feelings of peace and groundedness

During an Embodyment® Session:
The client is fully clothed reclining in shavasana, yoga's relaxation pose. A treatment is one hour. Maureen will place her hands on your spine where the tension is most deeply held. The physical release of tension encourages both mental and emotional release as well. Because each individual response to Embodyment® is unique, the number of sessions needed to resolve any particular condition varies.
After an Embodyment® Session:
Just as each individual experiences Embodyment® sessions differently, the results can be diverse as well. People often report feeling a great sense of relaxation and groundedness. It is recommended that you do not overexert yourself after your session and have a light work load the next day in order to allow the results of the therapy to integrate into your body. Embodyment® allows the body to release tension and resume its natural healing process.
