Maureen Elise Quinn, M.Ed., RYT, CST has held a life-long interest in the mind/body/spirit connection and holistic health. A former elementary school teacher, Maureen began the practice of yoga in 1992. She found that yoga helped to reduce stress in both her body and her mind.  She felt stronger, more grounded and more at peace. She noticed that her mind was more clear.  Due to the impact that yoga had in her life, she wanted to share it with others through teaching.  In 2004 Maureen received her yoga teaching certification from the Embodyoga program in Amherst, MA.  Maureen has also studied Svaroopa® Yoga  with its founder, Swami Nirmalananda (formerly known as Rama Berch) and Ashtanga Yoga with Nancy Gilgoff and Christine Hoar.

Maureen first received CranioSacral Therapy in 2003 when she had an elbow injury.  After a few CranioSacral sessions Maureen noticed that in addition to her elbow feeling better, she felt more grounded, peaceful and trusting.  She felt more connected to her inner wisdom.  The body/mind/spirit connection was again very evident to her.  As in yoga, when tension released from the body, stress released from the mind and the emotions relaxed.  After feeling the profound benefits of CranioSacral Therapy, Maureen decided to learn this art as well.  She began taking courses in 2005 with the Upledger Institute, which leads the world in light-touch therapy.  She continues to take both CranioSacral Therapy courses and yoga trainings regularly to keep her knowledge current and deepen her understanding of the body/mind/spirit connection.  In 2009 Maureen began her study of Embodyment Therapy with Master Yoga, the school that developed Svaroopa Yoga.  Maureen is also a watercolor artist, which she considers another form of healing art.

Maureen holds a BA in Psychology from Hamilton College, and a M.Ed. in Elementary Education from UMASS Boston.
